Role The Swell Squad, Wave FC's fan engagement team, is an essential part of the Game Presentation & Fan Engagement department. Reporting to the Supervisor of Game Presentation & Fan Experience, Swell Squad members help deliver a high-quality, welcoming, and energy-driven fan experience at all home matches, community events, and club activations. The ideal candidate is confident, approachable, and committed to helping shape a polished and intentional matchday and events environment for Wave FC supporters.
Swell Squad Purpose: To support a premium matchday and events experience by driving fan interaction, elevating energy, and contributing to the club's overall engagement and brand presence throughout the season. As part of Wave FC's fan-facing team, the Swell Squad plays a key role in helping bring the club's story to life; welcoming supporters, shaping the in-venue atmosphere, and ensuring matchday and non-matchday moments feel connected, intentional, and uniquely Wave FC.
2026 Areas Of Impact - Staff pre-game, in-game, and post-game engagement activations
- Interact confidently with fans on the concourse, in-seat, and field-level environments
- Support partner activations and sponsor-facing moments
- Execute matchday cues and engagement opportunities with consistency and professionalism
- Represent Wave FC at community events and club appearances
- Help maintain a continuous, welcoming, and fan-first atmosphere across the stadium footprint
Qualifications: We are looking for reliable, professional individuals who elevate the fan experience and contribute to a strong matchday and events culture.
Required Qualifications - Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with diverse groups of people
- Experience working in live event, hospitality, customer service, or fan engagement settings
- Approachable, energetic presence with strong situational awareness
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments and adjust quickly to direction
- Can-do attitude and ability to adapt and learn quickly to various responsibilities
- Must be available for all 15 home matches
- Scheduling is rotational; members will not work every match but must be fully available for coverage
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in outdoor weather conditions
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs
- Must be willing to work in various settings including stadium, community locations, and outdoor venues
- Valid Driver's License
- Previous sports, entertainment, or live event experience preferred
Preferred (but Not Required)- Hosting, emceeing, or public-facing entertainment experience
- Freestyle movement, dance, or other performance-based movement abilities
- Soccer freestyle, flag work, or other stadium-safe specialty skills
Swell Squad Responsibilities - Assist with setup, operation, and breakdown of matchday and event elements (tables, signage, props, engagement materials)
- Ensure event assets are properly maintained and returned after each use
- Support fan-facing engagement moments across multiple areas of the stadium
- Represent Wave FC at community and sponsor events, supporting activations, giveaways, and fan interactions
- Support the collection of fan data to enhance future engagement initiatives
- Collaborate with the Game Presentation team on matchday timing, cues, activities, and contests
- Assist with the preparation, coordination, and care of props, materials, and equipment used throughout the season
- Support cross-department needs on matchday and event days to ensure a seamless fan experience
Scheduling + Availability - Must be available for all 15 home matches
- Rotational scheduling means members will not work every match, but full availability is required for swing coverage and operational balance
- Additional opportunities include community events, sponsor activations, media moments, and club appearances
This role is hourly base compensation is $20/hr.
